Annecy is a small medieval town located in Haute-Savoie, France, about 40 kilometers away from Geneva. It is sometimes called as the “Venice of France”, although I still don’t understand the obsession to call a place the “Venice” of somewhere, when the place is beautiful enough to compare it with another city.
The best way to see the city is walking through its narrow streets, innumerable canals and medieval buildings. The entire atmosphere of the city is fantastic.
The city lays on Lake Annecy, so you can also enjoy the lake during the summer.
